Just imagine......NOW you have found the dream house you've always
wanted, unloaded the truck, and the house is beautifully decorated.
You are ready to relax and enjoy. But wait....How safe and secure
are you? How many people have had access to the key for your
home......building contractors, real estate agents, painters,
carpenters, electricians......just to name a few. Also, how many
keys did the previous owner give to their family, neighbors, etc.?
It is frightening how easy it is for someone to get a copy of your
house key!
At your closing, you should have been
given double the number of keys as you have locks for the house
(example: if your house has 3 locks, you should have been given 6
keys. Keys are packaged 2 per lock). If you only received 4 keys, 2
keys are floating around somewhere.

for all new home-owners should be to re-key all locks, especially if
the house is newly constructed.
